It will be difficult to top or even emulate yesterday’s performance but we can try.
As previously stated in an earlier Snippit ..it is not often Tom Quelly is at a meeting without a Cecil or Curley ride, the last time this happened we were rewarded with a 11/2 winner and a second at 4/1.
Well, today Tom rides 4 at Sandown and any winner will be a bigger price if the early market prices are anything to go on.
Sweet Deal. J. Noseda’s  filly is having her first race. With a 31.82% strike rate at the course this one needs to be carefully watched in the betting. The market at the moment does not speak in her favour and I have taken the 42.0 on offer and hope to trade out.
Tom’s second ride is Norphin currently quoted at 90.0. Unless it is seriously punted I shall swerve this one.
Realistically at this stage I do not expect Tom to have ridden a winner.
His last two rides are for M H Tompkins.
Barwick seems the most likely winner of the two and certainly is the more consistent. A careful monitor of the betting should give some sort of indication of what they expect. Trading around the 10.0 mark.
Now I am going to think outside the box and suggest Rayvin Black his last ride is the one that tempted him to the meeting.
At the present Betfair price of 30.0 you would think it had very little chance…and you could well be right.
Rayvin Black’s only success came in a 7f Yarmouth Nursery. Since then he has raced at 7f once more, one try at a mile and then upped in trip to 12f and 13f fading at the business end of his races. He did try a Class1 , Group3 race at Newmarket so must have been showing something at home.
Today’s trip is 10f and I expect him to be in the firing line from the mile marker.
On offer at Betfair 30.0
At the price he is worth a small punt.

Sandown 17.35
Rayvin Black 1pt win 30.0.  1pt place 7.4
Unplaced
Sweet Deal dropped down to 28.0 just before the off. Always at the back, but staying on well at the end. Should know a lot more and one for the notebook.
Barwick was the one they expected. Met a lot of trouble and finished well in 4th place. Would have finished much closer with a trouble free run. Very unlucky not to have placed.
Rayvin Black also met trouble and finished out with the washing. Maybe one to note for the future ....but I confess I cannot read the stable at all.
